You are able to help shape your kids into well-educated people. A main problem for many parents is that they do not realize how to bring up a child because they never learned. To be good mothers and fathers, you always need to study: hourly, every minute, from the child’s birth, or even earlier!
First of all, parents should bear in mind that any youngster is a personality, and, as a rule, each person is unique from the birth. Therefore, what is good for one kid may be unacceptable for your next. You learn your child from the very first days of existence and find the most favorable ways of education for her.
For many parents, the most difficult period begins when a child goes to school. However, some believe that now the school is responsible for the upbringing and training of the baby because the school is staffed by specialists who are required to teach. Another key point is that the greatest success in learning is achieved by those youngsters whose parents are aware that in order to gain the desired level of knowledge, skills, and abilities, they must take an active part in the educational process. If the baby sees the active participation of adults in training, the interest in her successes gets higher.
So, what do you need to know to help your child succeed in school?
1. Your Child Can DO things!
It is necessary to teach her to study properly, instill in her the necessary educational skills, and then direct and organize the activities of the baby.
First of all, adults should focus on raising a child’s sense of responsibility for her work. Ask the kid to do something.
Of course, you should not expect that the adolescent will immediately start doing everything right. At first, her movements can be awkward. This is natural; she is learning. Try to focus more on what the kid has been able to do, emphasize every success. This will give the youngster a sense of responsibility, she will understand that her actions are necessary and important. Do not skimp on praise after shutting down, even if not everything succeeds. If you get something like, “You can not do anything, let me do it myself,” then the child will never have the desire to do it again. Moreover, she believes her work is unimportant and unnecessary, and adults can do well without it.
It’s the same way in learning. Control the doing of homework, but do not sit with your child for hours, urging to complete the task.
Explain that it is important to bring the matter to an end.
2. Constantly emphasize how important it is to complete each task
All kids need some time to rest. The games, both individually and with other adolescents, develop a child’s intellectual and social skills well. However, kids must (of course, within reasonable limits) set up work, and the fun is second. In the end, well-developed diligence will quickly justify itself. Pupils should have special time scheduled for school tasks. As the kid grows up, the time for training should be increased. After completing the assignment, you should always be attentive to the child. Moreover, if she forgets about it, remind her.
3. Pay attention to the thoughts and feelings of the child
Usually, it seems to parents that because the baby is still small, she can not say anything important – therefore, it is not worth wasting time. Get into the habit of listening carefully to your child. Let her discuss with you all the problems that arose in school. In addition, if the kid shares what is most worrisome to her, do not bother her for any mistakes and failures, do not add emotions to the baby’s heart. For example, the son tells you that in the classroom he could not correctly write a task, because he heard the wrong prompt. Do not respond like this: “If something is unclear to you, please ask me. And I’m still busy with my business.” Discuss the situation and draw conclusions with the child.
4. Explain to children that learning is their “job”
Parents usually ask what they can do to interest the kid in a particular subject or task. Adolescents learn better when the subject is interesting to them, but it is imperative that they learn the following: they must also study the material that they have little interest in.
5. Find a way to get your child to find joy in learning
The desire to study should become her urgent need. If a child does not want to do a lesson or says that she is not interested in learning, you can look for the problems that she encountered that prevented her from understanding it. Ask the kid to prepare for the homework and allow her to consider ways of implementation. Then she has a desire to test her capabilities. If the youngster is on a timeline that you have identified, then naturally, she has a desire to consolidate this success and try to achieve a new one. And this is an interest in learning!
6. The kid must constantly feel that you believe in her
For some reason, it is customary to blame a child for their mistakes. All of her miscalculations come from the lack of knowledge and skills, as well as misunderstanding. If she does not have enough knowledge – it is necessary to fill this gap. Usually, the school score does not reflect the real experience of the students. During study time, emphasize the importance of knowledge and your love and respect for the child no matter what grade she has received.
7. Show a good example
Let your kid see that learning does not end when we finish school. Create a model of a good educational behavior by showing your child how you handle your work and homework, and let your children know that you are continuing to study. Parents who received an academic degree or graduated from a higher education institution with a bachelor’s or master’s degree are authoritative. If you skip classes, your behavior will not help in school. Make every effort to demonstrate to the child through your own actions that good educational skills bring generous fruits in learning.
