Oh, go ahead and admit it. You love all things Royal.
Maybe a guilty watching-the-Bachelor like pleasure, maybe a deep dark don’t-even-tell-my-spouse secret, or maybe you straight up own the dazzle, the formal, the fabulous that is the Royal spectaculars.
From weddings to babies (still gushing over the newest little royal), we just can’t get enough of the family across the pond.
Who stayed up in 2011 to watch the nuptials of Prince William and Princess Kate? *raises hand* (if you didn’t, you can actually watch the whole wedding here or look at their wedding photos here to get amped up for Saturday.)
Maybe we fall in love with it because in the military we don’t often get the romantic planned-out proposals, lengthy engagements, or full-blown formal weddings. Sometimes we are SO young and it happens so fast. Sometimes it’s, “I’m moving across the country in three weeks. Do you want to get married and come with me?” Sometimes it’s, “I just met you 2 months ago, but I know you’re the one; let’s get married.” It’s a military tradition to marry young and fast.
Maybe in the face of endless PCS moves and long separations from our spouses during deployment, we are living vicariously through the royal family – we love the stability, the tradition, the calm we’ve-got-it-all-together-ness. While we love this crazy, wonderful military life, sometimes we just want to get away.
Whatever the reason, I’m sure a lot of us are going to be up at 7am on Saturday (at least it’s not the middle of the night this time!) to watch Prince Harry marry his love, Meghan Markle. Here are their engagement photos. The preparation for the big day has been in the works since the engagement was announced in November…
Lottie Small, who recently completed her apprenticeship, printed all of the invitations in a process known as die stamping, on a machine from the 1930s that she affectionately nicknamed Maude. pic.twitter.com/kWs2RFx7nN

..and it is picking up steam (the lemon elderflower cake is being made as you read this…whatever that is, it sounds delicious!) Here’s a breakdown on the cost of the royal wedding. Meghan’s dad won’t be able to make it to the big day, but we will ALL be there in spirit with you, Meghan! (even though we’re still a little salty that you’re snagging up the last available royal…)
Queen Elizabeth has made it v official:
Bearing The Queen’s signature, the Instrument of Consent records Her Majesty’s consent to the Marriage of Prince Harry and Ms. Meghan Markle. #RoyalWedding
