We can’t discuss portable jobs without discussing the home-based business. These seem to be the bread and butter of military spouses at every location. However, it’s not the traditional Tupperware parties of 30 years ago. Military spouses have evolved and so has the business of home business.
Common home-based businesses are childcare services, food industry services, tailoring, or selling goods from a commercial provider.
But there are also virtual businesses that include medical transcribing, writing, website design, call center services, and administrative services.
We can’t leave out those who dive into the community and become substitute teachers, coaches, personal trainers and instructors. Every community has a need for these professionals.
However, some have even expanded their wallets by selling their passion. Unique skills sets like wedding planners, professional photographer, artist (canvas and mural), quilters and craft experts have all found their way on Pintrest.com, Ebay.com, Esty.com and Craftsy.com. There is money to be made if you have skill set that people love.
