How do you feel better about yourself?
We are imperfect. We make mistakes. We are human. But, that doesn’t mean that we can’t improve to be a better person and achieve more than we ever thought.
“I don’t believe you have to be better than everybody else. I believe you have to be better than you ever thought you could be.” – Ken Venturi
Finding that we are better today than we were yesterday is a wonderful feeling. Instead of waiting to muster the energy to commit to your next self-improvement project, consider taking five minutes every morning to make those baby steps. These questions get to the heart of life. They will help you feel more satisfied at the end of the day and definitely at the end of your road.
5 Great Daily Questions:
- Am I living my purpose? What is your purpose? Okay so that is two questions… but having this mapped out will help you answer this one every morning. If you have not defined your purpose, it can feel like you are floundering a bit. Don’t worry, your purpose can change. Just have one.
- Can I do better? Even if it is a small change for the better… most of us can improve on something today. Of course, there is something to be said about giving yourself a break. Sometimes the answer to the question will be “No”, and that is okay too.
- What are my top priorities today? Sometimes those priorities will be mountains you plan to move. Sometimes they are mountains of laundry. Sometimes the priority is to get in the floor and play with your kids. Sometimes it is to relax and re-energize.
- How will I take time for myself today? This is a hard one for many of us. We are always trying to take care of others. But we perform at our best when we are also taking the time to care for ourselves.
- How am I going to show gratitude? This one can also sometimes be tough when you are living a military lifestyle. But finding something to be grateful for every day can make tough times seem a bit more bearable. And showing gratitude can really help lift the spirit of another human being. Both great things to add to your day.
Where are you going to ponder these daily questions? Standing in front of your coffee maker, sitting in your favorite window, on your morning jog, or in the shower? Make it a habit and before you know it, you will be impressed by your progress.
