LaPora is an advocate of accountability and authenticity in the workplace and she has established herself as a respected authority in workforce development. In 2009, she faced her first phase of unemployment as a military spouse, and through the years similar experiences have led her to explore volunteering and entrepreneurship, as additional avenues to navigate through employment adversity. Through this experience, LaPora discovered her passion for career development and leveraged her newfound knowledge to secure a successful career in the field.
Equipped with a Master’s in Public Administration and a Bachelor’s in Organizational Communication, both obtained from the University of West Florida, LaPora possesses a strong educational foundation. She also has earned several certifications, including a Certified Workforce Development Professional and a Certified Emotional Intelligence Trainer.
In September 2021 LaPora opened up her current business, LaPora Lindsey & Co. and in 2022, LaPora achieved another significant milestone with the publication of her groundbreaking book, “Bottom of the Food Chain: A Fresh Perspective on How Your Career Impact Goes Beyond Your Job Title.” This influential work sheds new light on power dynamics within organizations, especially those roles defined as βlower positions,β drawing upon her comprehensive knowledge of the inner workings of workplaces. LaPora emphasizes the vital role of entry and mid-level positions in building sustainable and successful organizations, making her book an invaluable resource for professionals striving to create more equitable and productive workplaces.

Outside of her professional life LaPora is a Navy spouse of 15 years and the mother to Naomi and James.
