3. Do something you love.
Working out shouldn’t be something you dread. If you’re carving out time to make it a priority, then that time should involve doing something you love.
You shouldn’t hate your workout just to get the results you’re seeking. Doing something you love will make your workout something you look forward to each day.
4. Be selfish…just a little.
I used to think that by taking time to workout I was being selfish. Nothing could be further from the truth.
It has been proven that adding just thirty minutes of exercise into your daily life can have many benefits besides just losing weight.
It can help clear your head, refocus your mind and give you more energy. And let’s face it, as military spouses, we need ALL the energy we can get.
5. Have grace.
I’ve been known to be a bit of a perfectionist, and sometimes I’m an “all or nothing” sort of girl. If I feel I’m failing at completing my workouts or I miss one or two during the week, I tend to want to throw in the towel.
Sound familiar?
If you’ve ever felt this way, remember to have grace with yourself. You’ve got A LOT going on. Some days are going to be harder than others, but throwing in the towel will NEVER get you to where you want to be.
So what if you were only able to work out 3 times this week. That’s fantastic! You should be proud of yourself. And know that your consistency will pay off over time.
You can do this!
Starting isn’t the hard part of working out.
The hard part is staying on track and continuing to push yourself week after week. Just remember, working out doesn’t have to be a chore.
Staying on track doesn’t mean you are perfect every week. It simply means you are progressing.
Just do what you can, make yourself and your workout a priority every week, and before you know it you’ll be in a great routine.
Best of all as you stay on track you’ll feel accomplished and that is a great feeling!
