23) “I never cry when my spouse leaves.” – That’s nice. We are glad it is easy for you. One of our contributors recently had someone tell her this. All she could reply with was, “I cry when they he leaves.” She said it made her feel like an emotional, blubbery fool.
22) Saying anything negative about your last base because you WILL end up living there again just for saying it.
21) “We have orders, I’m certain his/her assignment won’t change.” Don’t tempt fate. Orders can change.
20) “How could your life be hard? You’re married to an officer.” Military life has challenges for all, no matter what rank their service member holds.
19) “Stop complaining. Suck it up. Pull on your big girl/guy pants.” Everyone has a right to sometimes be upset and not always deal with everything perfectly.
18) “You are only married to a Reservist or National Guardsmen.” All military families have unique challenges. To learn more read “More than Just a Weekend Warrior”.
17) “Let the single airmen (soldier, etc) deploy. I’m pregnant, and mine shouldn’t have to go.” The military deploys based on the needs of the military, not the family. It may not seem fair… but your spouse has a job to do.
16) “That other branch isn’t as good as the one my spouse is in.” Being proud of one branch of service is totally acceptable… but each and every branch is vital in making up the very best military in the world.
15) “The people in my service member’s shop, or my service member’s bosses, are idiots.” The military is a small world. Things can come back to bite you.
14) “We have enough wine.” We kid, we kid… okay, we may not be kidding.
13) “We don’t need to take pictures of our valuables before the movers arrive.” Yes. Yes, you do.
12) “All female service members are sluts.” Generalizations and stereotypes just suck. Don’t perpetuate them.
