I am thankful for the support that I still get, from my sister and brother Marines and from my fellow Military Spouses. Even though I haven’t seen some of them in years, they still call to check on me and to make sure the kids and I are thriving where we are now. This Thanksgiving I am INCREDIBLY thankful to the Red Cross and the families of Cape May for welcoming our oldest son (along with other recruits) into their homes for dinner while they are attending USCG boot camp! As a military spouse, it especially warms my heart to know that programs like “Operation Fireside” exist and I will be making sure to pay it forward THAT much more in the future. –Mary D.
