4. Take what you read with a pinch of salt, always.
This is especially true for localized base groups: Base communities are typically small, and word spreads fast. Never get involved with drama that you’ve stumbled across on the Internet, whoever it pertains to. Not only could you be fueling a fire that shouldn’t have been started in the first place, rumors also ruin relationships.
5. If you can get answers elsewhere — do it.
I’ve lost count of the amount of times I’ve seen an innocuous question become an avalanche of sass…and all because, yes, ya probably could have googled it.
6. Take it from Thumper…
Seriously, y’all. There are ways to disagree politely, to critique politely — and it’s also entirely possible to just keep scrolling. There’s no need to be crappy to people you don’t know. If someone makes a remark that rubs you up the wrong way, go ahead and ignore it, or just make an effort to be civil with your response.
