As a perfect auxiliary event at the close of the annual AFI MSOY week in the capital, the Inspire Up Experience has hit the road and pulled off a stunning display of community.
Hosting at the Army Navy Club in downtown, the Inspire Up team put together a gathering with the atmosphere of a family living room. Military spouses from all over the country gathered together to hear from representatives of the Fisher House, Armed Forces Financial Network, Dog Tag, and the Robert Irvine Foundation. Sponsored by these organizations and the Defense Credit Union Council, Tower Cares Foundation, and Caliber Home Loans, the Inspire Up Experience did not disappoint.
Opening with a warm welcome from Anthony Hernandez, the President of DCUC, the event kicked off with a service project. Assembling blessing bags, participants packed 50 bags to donate to the Fisher House of Walter Reed Bethesda. Jenny Hall from the Fisher House Foundation shared more about the mission and vision of the Fisher House, encouraging attendees to get involved through service and support. Meghan Ogilvie, the CEO of Dog Tag- a nonprofit organization dedicated to developing leading entrepreneurs, spoke on the importance of community building and skill development for military community members.
Right before lunch, David Reed from the Robert Irvine Foundation, shared his passion for supporting the military community through advocacy and investment. After the session, participants were served a rooftop lunch catered by Simple Greek.
After lunch was served, participants eagerly awaited the ending of the event- the “Our Favorite Things” giveaway. Ok, guys. The swag is EPIC! The Inspire Up girls are famous for their killer swag and we couldn’t help but share the inside scoop of just how cool these freebies were for those in attendance. Here’s our top five faves in the Inspire Up swag bag:
The Bogg Bag.
The Stanley Cup.
The Kinder Beauty Box.
The Five Love Languages from Moody Publishers.
The Bravo Sierra Products.
The Inspire Up Experience never disappoints. For the last several years, military spouses have flocked to the events hosted by this amazing team and have loved the investment made into their lives. The opportunity this organization provides to connect, grow, and, honestly, have a ton of fun, gives us a chance to rest and be served well.
