Day five was from Laramie, Wyo., to Park City, Utah, with a quick stop in Evanston, Wyo., to visit my grandmother whom I had not seen in quite some time.
Again we woke up around 0500 and went and worked out at CrossFit 7220. The 7220 is because the elevation of Laramie is 7,220 feet! Coming from sea level, this was going to be interesting. In our workout there was a total of two miles that we had to run. After 400m, it felt like I had sprinted a 5K!
We finished our workout then got coffee at Coal Coffee Uptown and breakfast at the Old Man Grill and then headed on our way. We pulled into Park City around 1500 where my mom and her cat, Skeeter, greeted us. After getting settled I filled out a maintenance request about the two tires on the Uhaul website and within 10 minutes I had a phone call letting me know that someone will be out in about 90 minutes to replace the tires. No questions asked! The next thing I know, there is a maintenance truck at the house and they are replacing the tires on our Uhaul trailer! The guy who was replacing them was quite surprised at the condition they were in and after telling him what the guy at the Uhaul place in Lincoln said, he too was quite surprised! Now we can make it the rest of the way without having to worry about tires blowing while on the road.
Day six was going to be another short day and rest day.
We were only going from Park City to Salt Lake City to visit my sister and her family and to relax some more. After those long days of driving, it was nice to relax and to visit with family and not have to be anywhere for a while. We did end up offloading some items to store at my sister’s house. They were items we hadn’t used in the past 6+ years, but we didn’t want to get rid of them. So, instead of shipping them all over “God’s Green Earth,” my sister is storing them for us. There they will be safe and if there is anything that we might need, I can either go there or since I have all the boxes labeled with what is inside, it will be easy for her to find if I can’t make it there. We will pick it up when we finally settle down.
