Pink Warrior Angels Raises Awareness and Provides Support for Cancer Warriors

Give more. Help more. Share more. This is the mission of Pink Warrior Angels. When founder Julie Moser was diagnosed with breast cancer for the first time in 2013, she began chemo treatment that would have lasting impact on her life. Due to its side effects, Julie was no longer able to work, contributing to a financial burden because of her diagnosis. However, it was on the first day of this treatment that she met her angel, Marily Considine. A fellow military spouse and breast cancer survivor, Marily brought positivity and kindness on the hardest days. Julie’s personal journey opened her eyes to the needs of other cancer warriors, and in 2015 she created Pink Warrior Angels to provide emotional support and financial aid for those facing a cancer diagnosis of any kind.

Since its beginning, the organization has helped over 3000 cancer warriors, providing $310K in financial aid, and donating nearly 450 chemo care kits. This assistance can be used by those in active treatment to help with costs related to bills, rent, groceries, or transportation. Through community, comfort, and encouragement, they strive to ensure that no cancer warrior ever feels alone.

In addition to their financial support, the volunteers at PWA organize multiple events to raise awareness and funds throughout the year. Still to come in 2023 are their Pink Warrior Race Series and Pink Block Party. The two-part race series includes the Pink Warrior Dash in Copperas Cove, TX on September 23, 2023, and the Pink Warrior 5K in San Antonio, TX on October 7, 2023. The races are also offered virtually so you can join the fight wherever you live. The Pink Block Party, hosted by Homebase, will be held in Copperas Cove, TX on October 21, 2023. It will be a day of live music, crafts, and fun with all proceeds going to the organization.

Next year, Pink Warrior Angels will host the 5th Annual Runway of Hope on February 24, 2024. This night of fashion celebrates the strength and courage of those that have battled cancer. As warriors take the runway, participants have a place to share their stories and find hope through connecting with caring community.

The support provided by Pink Warrior Angels is possible because of their amazing volunteers, sponsors, and donors. With almost 40% of men and women in the US diagnosed with cancer at some point during their lives, according to the National Cancer institute, cancer affects us all. We can all make an impact on the life of a warrior. To get involved with PWA, visit www.pinkwarriorangels.org to donate, fundraise, sponsor an event, or volunteer in person or virtually.

In 2019, Julie’s angel, Marily Considine, passed away at the age of 41. She is honored as an inspiration founder for Pink Warrior Angels. Her legacy continues to give back and help any cancer warrior in need.
