Enjoy the Outcomes
Implementing this revolution will come with some growing pains. Your kids, like mine, will likely resist the idea in the beginning. But stick to your guns, and you’ll reap the rewards.
Personally, what we found was that our home was almost instantaneously more relaxed, positive and alive. We saw more imaginary games. We enjoyed more “what if” discussions. Peace and quiet existed in and amongst soft voices reading stories. Laughter echoed outside. Eyes focused on detailed drawings being scratched on paper. It was easier to focus on school during the school week.
It wasn’t always perfect – kids begged. We had tugs of war. But as parents, we had to stick those out.
And the results we saw were worth it.
Turning off electronics turned off noise and turned on the sounds of home: childhood, imagination… family.
