6. DONT spend all your time trying to please everyone.
Unfortunately, friends and family are always going to want the world from you when you come back. But, just remember that this is unrealistic and down right stressful.
So prioritize and clearly communicate about what your plans are, and just calmly do the best as you can.
But stop trying to please everyone, I promise it’s impossible. You will get home needing a vacation from your “vacation”.
7. DONT feel guilty about not being able to see everyone.
Bless and release that idea so you can enjoy your time. Perhaps, instead of rushing from one place to another, pick one day and set up a free for all BBQ or picnic.
Invite everyone, to come and see YOU! You got there, and we all know that is no easy feat.
So, let people come your way for once! This is a great stress-free way to spend time with everyone you love and want to see, without the hassle of scheduling everyone in.
8. DONT break the bank trying to accommodate everyone.
Are you and your spouse from different states? Find a central location and ask your family to meet you.
Rent a house for accommodations and let everyone split the bill. It will be more cost effective than a hotel and everyone gets to stay together.
National Parks, Amusement Parks, Historical Sites- the locations are endless!
9. DONT stress!
Easier said than done, right?
But still, try to let go of the things you have no control over so that you and the family can enjoy your vacation back home. Know that thing may not always go as planned and that is ok.
Just do your best to leave room for the unexpected and have fun!
10. DONT spend every dollar, leave day, and vacation going back home to visit.
You are free to go on your own vacation. Here’s the thing, it’s your families turn!
Give yourself permission to enjoy some new experiences together. Release yourself from the mindset that it is your responsibility to always make the effort to get back “home”.
You won’t regret making the trip as a family. Don’t look back 15 years down the road and realize that you and your family have never had your vacation!
