Empowering more military spouses is the key. I want to continue to broaden my ability to network within the MSOY Community so that I can better serve the spouses I meet & interact with on a regular basis. This will afford me the opportunity to find more like-minded individuals and organizations to partner with to make a positive impact in the lives of others and EMPOWER them by connecting them to resources they may not have known about otherwise! This includes learning more about how I can be a voice for the special needs families within the military and help them to make their own voices a little louder.

I currently volunteer as the Ombudsman for two units in District 11. Ombudsman serve as the communications link between the command and families and assist with resources and referrals for various situations that our families face. To be honest I was completely blown away to even be considered or thought of for anything like this. My hope would be to just advocate for our families on the issues important to all of us.

District 9
We were fortunate enough to spend 3 very exciting years in NYC where I served as the Bayonne Ombudsman which included 8 outlying units to Sector NY. It was a pleasure to serve the spouses and the Coast Guard! I would like to continue to fight for spouses who require professional licensing for their careers, the constant moving makes it very difficult for myself and so many others to continue their career that they’ve worked so hard to obtain!
