Day 3. Erbil, Iraq: What I did not know
Few things will humble you as a military spouse like sitting among foreign policy and military leaders. The brevity and coordination of the fight against ISIL was increasingly more complicated than I could have known from home. I realized how little I knew about world events and yet it impacts my family daily. Getting to see the tents where our troops slept each night gave me a better picture of what my husband described so many times. Walking on more gravel all day reminded me of how a year of that made him more grateful for something as little as carpet. But had I really “heard” him?
