We Have A Winner!
Meredith Lewis, a Marine Corps spouse stationed in Jacksonville, N.C., is the winner of this year’s “A Picture’s Worth $1,000” contest, sponsored by Wahl. Here’s the story behind the winning photo…
For four years, they were neighbors. Meredith Lewis and her Marine both attended Liberty University from 2004 through 2008, living just one dorm apart. Separated by a single sidewalk, they never did cross paths. But they were meant to meet.
Two years after graduating, Meredith was living in Colorado Springs working for Compassion International. The man she would one day marry was in aviation training as a young Marine in Pensacola. Both had registered on eHarmony.com, and through some digital alchemy the website matched them on July 2, 2010. It wasn’t long before they fell in love.
Just over a year later, they walked through a canopy of sparklers at Old Glory Ranch in Meredith’s hometown of Wimberley, Texas, as friends and family celebrated their marriage.
This photo, taken at that lovely setting in the heart of Texas hill coun- try, truly tells a story worth much more than a thousand words: It’s filled with American pride, love and sup- port, and the joy of a romance that blossomed into marriage.
“To be so surrounded by friends and family, to see and feel so much support and to know that we were brought together by God was, and continues to be, a firm foundation upon which we have built our marriage,” Meredith tells us.
The photography for Meredith’s wedding was done by Jennette Campbell Holt. See more of her gorgeous work at www.photojennette.com.
