We’re knee-deep in PCS season, and that means our lives will once again be filled with a bit more stress, a lot of “see ya laters” and to-do lists as long as our arms.
Every single one of us have wished, at one time or another, that there were some way to alleviate the logistical nightmare that is often accompanied by our many military moves…and now there is!
Moni Jefferson (MilSpouse Creative and creator of Military Life Apps) and Maria Reed (creator of the hit show Moving With the Military) are two very resourceful military spouses who teamed up to introduce a revolutionary new way to PCS!
Through the wonders of technology, these two military spouses worked to develop the first and only app designed to simplify the way our military community moves and lives – the My Ultimate PCS App™.
Like the rest of us, Jefferson and Reed saw the need to streamline our moving process and wanted to give military families a simplified way to do that…right in the palm of their hands. With a combined number of 3 PCS moves between these two spouses, they were able to get to the heart of what our families actually need and use when moving every few years.
The My Ultimate PCS App™ features:
- PCS checklist integrated with calendar reminders/events
- Photo inventory integrated with digital folders for organization
- Lists of links to outside resources
- PCS countdown feature
- Notes
- Various Checklists
- Profile feature
- And so much more!
The My Ultimate PCS App™ also includes “calendar integration sync with deadlines and checklists, to-do lists, what to pack, budget, daily trip, inventory, and all the other many aspects of a PCS into a mobile app at the touch of a screen.”
It might also be interesting to know that Jefferson and Reed have only met once in person. This just goes to show how powerful our efforts can be, regardless of geographical location. Currently the app is only available for IOS devices. Jefferson and Reed initially boot-strapped the creation of the app on their own dime, but with the help of additional sponsors the plan is to roll out an Android version in the future. The end goal for them is to ultimately change the way our community lives and moves through technology.
Jefferson is in the middle of a PCS move herself and said the platform’s capabilities have allowed her to breathe much easier at night, instead of tossing and turning with worry over all of the tasks she needs to accomplish.
“I was in bed about a week ago and couldn’t sleep,” said Jefferson. “But I looked at the checklists on the app and saw how much I had accomplished and immediately felt way less stressed.”
Reed, who hosts a hit show called “Moving With the Military” (recently picked up by a network with over five million viewers) told us a story on how she lost her phone during one PCS. This was at the forefront of her mind when they decided to create cloud capabilities in the event YOU lose or break your phone during a PCS (or some other Murphy-related incident).
“We made sure to take care of details like this and do the hard part (developing the app) so users wouldn’t have to worry about it,” said Reed.
We’re really excited to try out the My Ultimate PCS App™ and hope you are too! (Download it here!) Jefferson and Reed also said they really want to hear from their users and get feedback on what’s working, what doesn’t and what people think should be added. If you have any suggestions or just want to hit them up to say THANK YOU, they’re waiting to hear from you at [email protected].
