NFL Players Participate in P&G ProCamps

Success, according to five celebrated NFL players, is not based on the number of wins, blue ribbons on the wall or records held. Rather, success is a product of setting goals and putting forth your all to reach that final objective, whether you reach it or not. It’s the effort behind it that defines success.

NFL players Alejandro Villanueva, Andre Roberts, Graham Gano, Jonathan Stewart and Steve Smith Sr. serve the Armed Forces by participating in ProCamps for military kids. ProCamps are put on by Procter & Gamble — which has brands like Tide®, Head & Shoulders®, Charmin and Pampers — through a promotion with the Defense Commissary Agency (DeCA).

The commissary is the center and “heart” of the community and so much more than a grocery store; it is a central place where military families can shop with brands they trust and connect to the most. This is displayed at every camp with the commissary coming out to the camp and donating healthy snacks and water for all of those in attendance. Its contribution helps promote the Healthy Lives initiative, which encourages healthy eating and staying active.

The ProCamps program is a great example of how the commissary joins hands with industry partners to accomplish so much more than it can alone for these deserving military families. This experience will celebrate and honor the heroic, resilient and courageous military children and their families, while enabling the commissary to execute on their mission of bringing the military community together.

Each two-day camp teaches military children the finer points of football by having campers rotate through stations specializing in football fundamentals. Children also participate in touch football games. At no cost to them, approximately 2,000 children worldwide will learn from the pros this summer.
