5 Ways to Keep Your Military Marriage Spicy

Everyone loves a beginning, especially the beginning of a relationship. Beginnings hold so much promise, so much excitement, so much….HEAT.

But as time fades, the fire of that heat often fades too.

So, how you keep your military marriage spicy?

Military couples are often “lucky” in that the military lifestyle can definitely extend and re-create the feelings of the beginning or the honeymoon phase, but military couples are still vulnerable to getting too comfortable and losing that spiciness just like everyone else.

But you don’t have to lose it!

No matter how many years you’ve been together you can still recreate that excitement that made you want to rip each-other’s clothes off in the beginning.

Here are 5 ways to bring back the butterflies:

1. Do Something Competitive.

In the beginning of a relationship, I feel like couples are extra playful with each other, because they’re still figuring each other out.

Nothing brings that playfulness back quite like a little friendly competition.

Go bowling with your spouse and see who can score the highest score or go to an arcade and see who can score the most tickets.

Bonus, you can cash those tickets in for candy! A little playfulness and sugar can add a lot of sweetness to your relationship.

2. Make-Out Like You’re a Couple of Horny Teenagers With a Curfew.

We all remember those days, those hot steeeeamy sessions in the backseat of a car or on a couch where you rrreeeaaaallllyyy wanted to take the next step, but you rrreeeaaaallllyyy didn’t want to “go there” quite yet, so instead you just made out for what felt like hours, (or heck, even was hours!).

As the years go by and you get more comfortable with each other, you seem to have less and less make-out sessions, which is a bummer.

Next time you and your spouse are having some “alone time”, grab some chapstick and pucker-up for at least ten minutes before you do the “deed”.

Spending some more time on first base really will make that “home run” that much better – if ya know what I’m saying.
