SCHOOL ROUTINE–
The Night Before: I pack everyones lunch and have them get their clothes (including their shoes) out so that in the morning they know where everything is. Those who need to bathe do, my oldest catches a shower in the morning, as she heads to school later than the others.
Morning : Rise and shine. Get dressed and come down stairs. Enjoy your breakfast, grab your snack for school and put your lunchbox in your backpack. Brush your teeth and lace up your shoes. NO TELEVISION IN THE MORNING.
After School: When they walk in the door from school the ritual goes like this: Unpack your backpack, unpack your lunchbox and get your homework out. Enjoy a snack and then get to work. I know this isn’t an option for every family so whatever works for you! I just recommend keeping it consistent from day to day so that your children know what to expect and feel comfortable when they are working at home.
School Papers: When you have four kids in two different schools the paper work, flyers and reminders can be overwhelming. I have folder for each child on my desk, every time something new comes home for them I place the information in their flier so I can go back and look. Anything that needs to be signed is placed on the refrigerator; I sign things at night to avoid the morning rush of “I need this signed”
MASTER CALENDAR: The Master Calendar is kept in the office and it has everything from sports schedules to my husbands schedule and appointments for the whole family. I also keep those things on my Google calendar and my husband and I share our Google calendars with each other, that way I can tell if he is in class, in clinicals on specific days and he can see that if he gets off early he might get to see a volleyball game!
