MENU PLAN: We eat A LOT of food; there are six of us! So each week I receive and email from emeals with a seven-day menu and grocery list. The list is the life saving part. I don’t have time to be search for recipes and then make a list of all the ingredients I need. This way I have it all right in front of me. I shop multiple stores to cut down on the cost. I shop weekly at Sam’s to keep a steady supply of meats, vegetables and dairy products on hand.
THIS AND THAT: Through out the day I find someone’s Lego, a random, pair of socks, rainbow loom bands, it varies from day to day so, I keep a basket on the dinning room table for each child. As I go through out my day I place items in the appropriate basket and after homework time the kids have to empty their baskets. Some hardly ever had to, but one kid? She has a filled basket everyday.
We are a family of six, nothing we do is ever really “little”. Morning car pool and just preparing dinner can be a BIG task at times. These are just some of our daily routine tips that we have found help contain the chaos of having a large family.
