Time to Shop! Macy’s is Ready for The Big Give Back

This is a sponsored post. The writer received a Macy’s gift card in advance of her visit.

Starting today, Macy’s rolls out The Big Give Back to raise money in support of veterans and their families. How does it work? Give $3 to support veterans and military families at Macy’s and you’ll receive a savings pass for 25 percent storewide or 15 percent off in select departments to use at any Macy’s store until July 8. There’s also a way to donate and receive savings online.

One hundred percent of your donation will go to three military and military spouse focused nonprofits: Blue Star Families, Team Rubicon, and Bunker Labs.

Blue Star Families connects military families to resources to create stability in an ever-changing lifestyle. Bunker Labs is a national nonprofit organization built by military veteran entrepreneurs to empower other military veterans to start and grow businesses. Team Rubicon is the only disaster response organization that repurposes the skills of military veterans while providing them an opportunity to continue their service.

I had the chance to visit Macy’s Triangle Town Center in Raleigh, North Carolina to take a tour, learn more about The Big Give Back, plus meet with some of their military-connected employees.

When you enter Macy’s, you may get to meet veterans like Stacey Grogan. Stacy talked to me about her time in the Navy, building hospitals in Europe and being a liaison between veterans severely injured during duty and their anxious family members. Stacey projects an unwavering passion for helping others which shines through in her role with Macy’s. She was drawn to working for Macy’s because of its diversity and her desire to continue to serve the public.

During my tour of the store, I met a Christine, an Air Force spouse, who talked about her transition from stay-at-home mom to joining the Macy’s team. Once her spouse retired from the military, Christine was eager to jump back into the work force. Macy’s welcomed her skills and now she runs the top performing Macy’s jewelry department in the Raleigh area.

The Big Give Back is a great way to be a part of a tradition of unwavering passion for helping others. Join Macy’s in their continued support of veterans and military families through The Big Give Back. Find your nearest store, get shopping (by July 8!), and give back.
