We are ramping up for the election this year. Things are going full steam ahead. My social media feeds are blowing up with just about everything you can imagine with who is right, who is wrong, who said what, and so much more.
There is political slamming, negativity galore and right now I am sick to my stomach at what is going on.
Now, I know what you are thinking, “Oh great, another political slamming article.” However, it is not going that direction.
I wanted to take a minute to give a bit of direction on your own opinions.
When President Obama was first running for office, I had a good friend who pressured me to jump on the Obama bandwagon. I personally am not a huge Obama supporter, but that is just my opinion.
So I asked her, “Why do you think I should vote for him”?
Her only response was, “Because it is right.”
HUH? How is it right?
What is RIGHT about you telling me how to vote?
I asked her why she believed he was the best choice and again she responded with “Because it is right.”
This person seriously had no idea what his agenda was, what he was for or against and had no clue about his political views. I was so confused.
So, here is where I come in with direction.
I personally do not care who you vote for or where you stand on policy. Lately, so much bashing has been happening that people are getting confused.
Here are a few questions to ask yourself:
1. What do you believe in?
2. Where do you stand on each political issue?
3. Do you feel any candidates will really come through on their promises?
4. How are their decisions best for the country?
5. Who benefits more or less?
Each candidate has an agenda, each one has beliefs and where they stand on the issues.
Find out which issues are the most important to you.
Research each person and come up with a decision on your own. You will NOT get the full story from the news, your best friend or even the neighbor.
You are about to make a decision that could impact your entire life.
Once you have done your research and you are knowledgeable about where they stand, you will feel 100% better about your decision.
I am neither Democrat, Republican, Tea Party, Independent or any of they other “parties.”
I am my own person and have my own beliefs on each issue. I simply look for the candidate that fits my ideals.
It is time to get away from the constant slandering just to make the other candidate look better than their opponent.
There’s so much that goes into voting for the next leader of the free world. Voting is one of many big decisions we will make in our life and it is time to start preparing our youth for the same decisions.
The great thing about living in the free world is our FREEDOM TO CHOOSE, however what good is that choice if it is not well informed?
The next time someone asks you “Who are you voting for?” you can respond with “The candidate that I feel best represents me and my family!”
To find out more information on each candidate, visit their websites, look up their policies, read their biographies and then see where they stand on what matters most to you!
Good luck friends and Happy Voting!
