We all have heard the horror stories of FRGs and other family support groups. However, they can be the most valuable part of your spouse’s command group. Give them a chance, go in with an open mind, and most importantly, if you don’t like something, offer to help change it. Just like installations, each family group is different. Sometimes you will meet with them once a quarter to plan a fundraiser, sometimes you will only receive emails, and sometimes those other milspouses will save your life. Give them a chance.
